Who We Are and What We Do
Board & Lewis Construction Inc. (B&L) was established in 2001 as a partnership between Rufus Lewis and Benny Board. The two started out building pole barns and decks before quickly evolving into a full residential company building high-end custom homes. In 2012, Rufus Lewis became the sole owner and operator of B&L Construction. In 2013, Bryan Lewis and Brian Newton partnered with Rufus to start the commercial division. Since then, B&L Construction Inc. has become a top-performing General Contractor in the commercial industry while specializing in restaurants that require fast-paced schedules for completion. We are currently licensed to perform work in the states of Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia.

How We Approach Our Projects
- We thoroughly review the plans during the bid and preconstruction to look for any potential conflicts, errors, omissions, etc.
- We provide competitive pricing with the intent to have the best qualified bid.
- We do not “low ball’ OR “change order” projects. The only change orders that should arise would originate at the request of the client or a permitting official.
- We provide our clients with timely updates with reliable and accurate information.
- Our employees are professional and have great personalities. They work hard to make the client happy. Everyone on our team possesses a can-do attitude.
- We are relationship driven and try to provide our clients with a single source point of contact. This helps achieve continuity across multiple projects and regardless of location.
